INTRODUCTION:
The world has now become liberal enough to encourage diverse people from all around the world to come together and work in a single team. So has cross-cultural in the work fields. We can see various people of different lands, regions and of different nationalities coming together with the single goal to work on the same project. Today, due to the competitiveness in business or in any earning firm it's always better to keep as many people as possible. It is even better if we can keep or if the company can provide employment to the people from all over the country and all over the world. While such a diversity of people are being used, it should be kept in mind that the manager supposed to manage these uses should be sensitive and should say nothing that hurts the feelings of any employee of any caste, creed or religion or nationality. Hence, students should understand the importance of ethical and moral grounds while managing cross-cultural workforce.
Profits of various culture in the workforce:
Since the upbringing of different people has been different due to the various cultures, so every individual has their own ideas that can introduce into the workforce and hence a comparison can be done which one is better and which are not. This in return can help the team come up with something unique due to the various unique ideas that have been introduced and complied with. Now talking about cross-cultural management, it is the responsibility of the manager to combine all these unique and various sorts of ideas that the workforce has come up with and put together a brilliant idea. The better the manager is in putting up all the ideas, the better is the prosperity.
Advantages of cultural diversity:
- It is always good if there are at least one person from each community or belonging from different nationalities because, while making big international deals it is always good or rather it is always in profit if the communication can do in the language with whom the deal is being set. With this the partner feels secure and much more confident about the company and hence there is a higher chance for the deals to be cracked.
- As mentioned earlier different people from different regions have different upbringings and hence their ideas of thinking are very different so there is always a bulk of the idea for a single thing that is there is always different ways of approach for a single thing which helps to set with a backup plan. So, wide thinking is essential while handling assignments related to cross cultural management. Look for international resources while writing assignments.
Disadvantages of cultural diversity:
- Since the people have come up from different areas, hence, there can always be a probability of an individual not to know the language and hence there can be a communication gap between the core team workers.
- There can be attitudinal problems as well.
- There can be perceptual problems as well.
Conclusion:
From all of the above writings it can be concluded that as we know a coin has both side similarly each and every event has two sides of advantages and disadvantages as well. In this case or rather in this scenario globalization plays a major role, and since, all humans are equal so there is no harm in the employment of all of the brilliant minds together for a work. As one can bring a huge enlightenment to the work, but similarly one can also bring a huge disappointment as well if anyone's sentiment is hurt. So keeping that in mind if these things can be managed then it is always good to go for cross-cultural management related assignments.
