5 Weirdest Things I’ve Done for Homework

With creativity seeping into every facet of life, the academic curriculum is also planning to tease the creative strings of students. Thus the homework assignments are now being innovative wherein teachers assign exciting tasks to the students. To get a decent score against the allotted work, they have to come up with a brilliant strategy to accomplish the same. This might include taking on-site visits or making observations to conclude a study that can be supported by figures and numbers.

It won’t be wrong to say that homework in delivering an edge to the students who think they can’t be creative or go weird, because when they get scored for this, they don’t have any other option but to try. For me, as a personal experience, I have been assigned many innovative and creative tasks which also turn weird if I look at from the perspective of a traditional classroom study setting.
  • Evaluating how many people instantly react to danger: For this, I planned out netting my room with electric wires that of curse didn’t have the current running. Post making the settings, I called my family members at odd hours to see how they react when they are exposed to such sudden environments. It was fun yet when I explained later that it was for an assignment, they were amazed at how creative I can be for scores!
  • Resistance to change: Well, this was kind of a self-experiment; I chopped off my hair. Trying out a new look that I always wanted but never dared actually got me oodles of praises. A complete study around this was developed, and I also noticed the reaction of people around who were used to of looking me in a certain way and was resistant to new Avatar.
  • Took a walk: This one I did to try out how and what Deep Listening can help. The homework project involved studying sound walks, which are also labelled as artsy and abstract. Coming out with amazing recordings of crows, crunchy leaves, bugs, and resting hens have helped me listen more intently to the sound of nature.
  • Watched a Fashion Show: This was another project which was aimed at learning more about fashion but charting out how much of it is actually being adopted by youth. It also gave me an insight into how Secret Fashion Shows conducted. Also, chalking out trends on bras and lingerie was another weird addition to the project that actually got me pepped out to buy tickets for this kind of thing.
  • Cooked meals: Of course this was Home Science. An Italian recipe was discussed in the class that involved a little bit of baking and long hours of standing in the kitchen. As a matter of fact, the final dish that I made was to be used as an ingredient to make another recipe. It was weird, Tada!
